I just wanted to note that thereâs no requirement that you have your language set to âUS Englishâ. However, there is a known bug that, as far as I can tell, is present if you have never changed the language in the settings â or at least not recently. Once you change it from âEnglishâ to something else, you should be able to switch to any language without issue, including back to âEnglishâ.
Feature request: According to the Wiki, parking lot areas should be locked at 3, but it seems that WMEPH is locking those at the regular state minimum lock level. Any chance that it can be adjusted so that PLAs get set to 3 when they meet the conditions where WMEPH would add the lock automatically?
Also as an additional request, Nevada lock standard has been to lock a place at 2 when itâs completed. For a while now, we prefer that emergency service providers (Hospital, Police & Fire), as well as gas station places be locked at a minimum level of 3. I donât think that the NV wiki page says anything about that yet; Iâll have to see about that when I have a chance. Is there any chance that WMEPH can be adjusted so that those types of places in Nevada are accommodated with the appropriate minimum lock rank when the existing rank is 1 or auto(1)?
Nevada already had a standard of R3 for Police, Fire, Hospital and Prison in WMEPH, Iâve added Gas Station to that list.
Nevada has been set at a default lock level of R2 since the beginning of WMEPH.
If youâre not seeing these properly lock when a place is complete, let us know; theyâve been working for me. If you have any further Nevada-specific concerns, you can contact me directly.
Oh, ok, thanks for the info. I hadnât noticed it because A] I had been not very active over the last few months, which is when Iâm guessing the change in WMEPH took place, and B] The places that I was looking at were ones that I (or other editors) had already worked on and thus were already locked at 3 or higher. While I was editing today, I got to a gas station that I hadnât dealt with before, and yup, it auto-locked at 3. I remember thinking, âWow, that was fast!â
Iâm thinking that airports should probably be at least 3, if not 4. If you agree, could you please put in the request for me to have that set at at least a 3 in WMEPH? We donât tend to deal with airports that much, so Iâm not as worried about it; if you donât think it needs the minimum of 3, then just leave it at the current state minimum (2).
To follow up on this observation, Iâve been smacking my head against the keyboard as to why WMEPH wasnât working for me, even though I did have a language set. It turns out that even though the language I had set was âUS Englishâ, somehow, somewhere, in some dark mysterious place, the localization engine in WME was returning a language code that didnât match up with what was being used everywhere else.
WME is looking for âen-USâ and mine was oddly set to âen_USâ.
The simple fix is to change language to something else, and change it back again. This might be why some people have seen it work after change languages a couple of times.
Thanks jangliss. That will hopefully be addressed in the next release. Instead of using W.location.locale it will use I18n.locale, which I believe is probably what it should have been using all along. Iâm not sure why W.location.locale is sometimes different â or why itâs there at all, really. Maybe just to confuse us poor script writers
Is there a way we could add âreservationsâ as a button on âPersonal Careâ as part of the âAdd Servicesâ because we use personal care for salons and spaâs and most of those take reservations? Thank you. I know I can go in and select reservation, but having it as one of the buttons like we have for âRestaurantâ would be nice.
Request for change of missing external link standards in the USA:
PLA Places - Missing External Link (google) should be a minor issue (BLUE), as 99% PLAs do not have matching Google Places, and we donât want the PLA linked to the main Place.
non-PLA Places - Missing External Link SHOULD NOT PREVENT the automatic locking. (regardless of color)
Iâm not sure of the mechanics behind the auto-save locking, but since an external link cannot be added (let alone seen) by R1 & R2 editors, there should be no reason to preventing the auto-lock to L2/L3. HOWEVER, the banner and highlighting should reflect the missing external link so L3+ can see the issue and resolve it. If RED means no auto-save lock due to incompleteness, maybe missing external links should be categorized under the YELLOW warning level.
The reasoning here is that if every standalone venue will eventually have a PLA (seems thatâs where we are going), and the vast majority of these lots donât have a matching google venue, we donât want every single editor to have thousands of PLAs to check and whitelist.
Not only that, we also want to avoid inadvertently suggesting that a Google link should be made between PLAs and the associated businesses themselvesâe.g., we do not want a âParking - Starbucksâ linked to Googleâs âStarbucksâ result, we want only our âStarbucksâ linked to that.
Can we prevent WMEPH from applying Title Case Capitalization to the parenthetical restrictions in PLA names? For example, âParking Lot A - Employee (permit only) - Airportâ becomes âParking Lot A - Employee (Permit Only) - Airportâ.
First off - and I never want to take this for granted - thank you SO much for the efforts put forth in powerful tool. As Iâm working on a mass quantity of place updates, I was curious if itâd be possible to facilitate keyboard shortcuts to quickly hop into the 1) phone number field, 2) hours field, and possibly 3) the Google Place link. Or is it possible to create a jump button, like you did with the street, that would open up the Google Place link field?
Yes, I definitely appreciate the helpfulness of this addon.
Would it be possible to have it adjusted, though, so that PLAs with no URL, phone number, or external provider link NOT be highlighted in blue on the area itself? Itâs pretty common (at least around here) for a parking lot to only have some of those things at best, and none of those things in many cases. It would be nice to not have to constantly have to whitelist every one of those.
