What does it mean on a duplicate Google place about Joining a PLA with an Area Place? I have a school and a parking lot both labeled with the Google link. Should I not have the google link on the parking lot, or should I combine the lot with the school and overlap the area places?

Google place should be only attached to the real place.

PLA will soon™ have a way to connect to the real place.

Looks to have potential, and love that it’s not locked to a single code editor that could disappear for whatever reason.

One thing I’d like to see is some fine tuning on what is flagged. For instance, for SLs in my area we haven’t yet gotten around to populating SLs on local streets and I’m not terribly concerned about them. I’m a little more concerned about PS, and am very concerned about mH+ not having SL. It would be nice to be able to narrow down what is highlighted. This is just an example, similar fine tuning could be useful for other options

Not sure if this is operator error or not, but I’m seeing roundabouts of all road types flagged as “Segment not protected”, even when locked to their appropriate level. I’m even seeing local street roundabouts flagged.

The default for roundabouts, for all countries is 3. (why 3? because it’s what we in Portugal use)
This values can be updated by country.

Yes, changelog is a bit technical at the moment.

Just to clarify localizations aren’t included yet for US states and regions? Something we have to work around but at least there’s some place to start!

Magic is by default in english, if find something misspelled or wrong, please let us know.

The question here may be more for Xander, but Juliansean is actually referring to the fact that there are various regional differences in the US (mainly lock levels). Will there be something that will highlight incorrect lock levels by state/region in the US?

Is there any plan to do a wide area (zoom 0) scan and report? For me, that is my most missed feature from Validator.

The script does not reflect the recent status of what segments should be connected with driveable segments. Nowadays all segments should be connected with roads:
pedestrian boardwalks
walking trails
railroads
stairs

The script tells me to disconnect these segments, which is wrong.

I suppose you know the reasons for this and why the risk of being routed over these segments does not exist any more, I think most of this is non public knowledge, so I cannot go into detail here (send me a PM if you have questions).

I’d very much like to see the return of area scan with list of PLs. When panning the map, I think it would be great if problems with JNs were highlighted more clearly so that I can notice them immediately. I am enjoying this script! Thank you!

It may no longer be an issue for routing, but it can still cause ETA accuracy issues to connect them and to fraction segments, adding more nodes in the process.

Personally I’m waiting for Phantom nodes to be released before connecting these types. Until that is available, I’ll leave this highlight ON for Switzerland (maybe change the explanation message). You can of course ask to turn it OFF for Austria.

Magic is really touchy about duplicate places. If there is “Walmart” and “Parking - Walmart” both will be highlighted as duplicate places. But that’s a minor issue. I’ve been using Magic for only a day, but I’m really impressed with it, especially considering how it was rushed into production when Validator finally died. I especially like the UI.

Also, I noticed that there’s someone maintaining a list of things for the USA on your page supporting this addon. Is there a way to make it possible for the “Segment not protected” option allow for individual state requirements? I’m asking because I’ve got roads that are properly locked according to the state wiki for Nevada, and when I select that option, it flags them. I’m guessing that the national guidelines might say a higher lock level than the one that we’re using here. I suspect other states might be doing that as well, so it would be nice to be able for the person who is managing a given country to be able to accommodate local-level differences from the national guidelines.

It’s not detecting duplicate places but places which are both linked to the same Google Maps location ID. This is not visible to all editors as you require at least L3 to see it (I think)

I’d be happy to mention it to the maintainer for the USA config, but I can’t seem to reach him/her. According to the “maintainers” list at the web page for this addon, “Xander” is that person. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the username used here in the forum, because when I tried to send a PM, I got an error saying that the user doesn’t exist… :?
