[SOLVED] Peak time mis-directions

A common scenario and I wondered if there are any tips to suppress it:

Testing in the live-map shows that at peak times waze directs drivers to keep right when approaching the roundabout and then to take 1st exit. At quieter times it gives a keep left to bypass the roundabout.

I’m sure that resetting the segment data would only help for a short time until traffic data is replaced and waze finds that queueing in the left lane is slowest. Any suggestions? In fact, I suppose waze is doing what it’s supposed to - finding the quickest/most reliable route, so should I just leave it alone?

Thanks
David

There were similarly weird issues on the Headington roundabout but I don’t know that they were ever successfully resolved. Instead of directing you straight through the middle to go N on the A40 it directed you around at certain times.

For these kinds of roundabout bypasses, it’s usually best to remove the ‘keep right’ on approach.
Then the driver will only ever hear “keep left” or “take 1st exit”, and not notice that the difference.

Ok. So as I understand it, you can only have a keep left if there is a POTENTIAL keep right.
So if the " keep right" segment has the same name as the IN segment, will that suppress the instruction while preserving the " keep left"?

Correct!

This is explained in excessive detail on this Wiki page (warning: here be dragons!)

Ok, thanks. I’ll give it a try.
