**Is this a…** :
Standard bug
**Steps to reproduce this issue** :
Email alert for a comment has an incorrect Status indicator.

A user report [[https://www.waze.com/en-GB/editor?zoom=5&lat=51.710178&lon=-4.729311&mapUpdateRequest=24831901](https://www.waze.com/en-GB/editor?zoom=5&lat=51.710178&lon=-4.729311&mapUpdateRequest=24831901)] was closed on 5th September

On 8th September, a comment was added, and the email message says:

From: Waze [noreply@waze.com](mailto:noreply@waze.com)
Sent: 08 September 2025 10:31
Subject: New comment on a map issue

A volunteer Waze Map Editor, reporter, looked at the map issue you’re following.

Date reported: September 5
Location: A478, Wooden
Status: Open

Of note, the Status says Open when the status of the report is closed:
Closed on: 05 September, 2025
by BeRoWaz(5)

It also says “A volunteer Waze Map Editor, reporter”, the reporter is the end user reporting a problem, so referring them as a volunteer Waze Map Editor, reporter seems to not be quite correct.

Hi @BeRoWaz,

Thank a lot for your input. I have filed an internal ticket to look into the incorrect status issue.

As for

> It also says “A volunteer Waze Map Editor, reporter”, the reporter is the end user reporting a problem, so referring them as a volunteer Waze Map Editor, reporter seems to not be quite correct.

This has already been mentioned by Mike in [the following comment](https://www.waze.com/discuss/t/new-look-for-user-report-emails/366022/78). You can add your feedback there as well. 🙂

Take care and regards,
Olesya

This is still happening. I closed this report yesterday a 3:39 PM CDT.

 ![image](https://web-assets.waze.com/discuss/prod/original/3X/3/e/3e6ad36104f5419cf271a94489d7985f3959e574.png)

This morning (almost 12 hours later) I received an email with a reply that was sent after the report was closed but the status still says “in review.”

It also says the editor is “someone.” LOL I’m the editor. That field should either show my username or not exist. This seems to only occur on reports that are already closed out.

The report below is still open and shows the correct status of in review, but incorrectly shows the editor as VroomVroomBitch2021, who is the reporter. VroomVroomBitch2021 is not an editor and has never logged into WME.

Hi @TxAgBQ,

Thank you for sharing your feedback.

I have added your example to the internal ticket - it is still being looked into.

Could you also provide the UR permalinks for these examples?

In the meantime, feel free to check out [this thread](https://www.waze.com/discuss/t/ur-email-overhaul-june-2026/405290) and add your comments there as well.

Best,
Olesya

Please ignore this question, the UR IDs will suffice.

Hi @TxAgBQ,

I’d like to provide some insight to explain why:

> [@TxAgBQ](#):
>
> The report below is still open and shows the correct status of in review, but incorrectly shows the editor as VroomVroomBitch2021, who is the reporter. VroomVroomBitch2021 is not an editor and has never logged into WME.

The “Editor” field refers to the person who commented, in this case this is the same user who submitted the report. Perhaps “Commenter” would make more sense - if you think so too or havE other suggestiOns, I’d encourage you to raise it in the main thread for better visibility.

> [@TxAgBQ](#):

“Someone” refers to the reporter, and is used in case the username has not been shared (the Wazer has not seen the disclaimer).

Please let me know if you have further questions.

All the best,
Olesya

If I understand that properly, then the “Editor: Someone” field isn’t needed at all. The top “Someone” part covers who commented most recently. The one under details adds no value. That would resolve that portion of the issue.

Thank you for pointing this out, @TxAgBQ. I’ll share this remark with the team.
