It would be great if one of the reporting options allowed me to easily/quickly notify others of “bad drivers”. That is, the weavers, bumper-riders, erratic movers, or even slow-in-the-fast-lane folks.
Ideally, some simple quick safe way of adding identifiers [car model, type, color, etc] so others are adequately enabled to be on the lookout. Snapping photo or capturing license is even cooler, IMHO]
This goes along with the suggestion to report a “Police Car Driving”. As has been discussed in a few places in the fourms, this is impractical for several reasons the biggest being that in the time it takes for the reports to make it from the person who reports it, to the Waze servers, to other Wazers on the road the car would no longer be where it was when the report was filed. Also, with every intersection past where the report is the poseted, the possible location of the “Bad Driver” increases exponentially and it would be nearly impossible to locate it reliably after less than 5 minutes.
And add in the fact that in many areas said designation could apply to a large percentage of drivers resulting in the client screens being nothing but said reports. All of which are 4 minutes or more out of date, (average time delay from data transmission up to reception on other devices.
Jesus, that would keep me reporting throughout my entire commute. And typing stuff into my mobile instead of keeping both eyes on the road and hands on the wheel this would turn me into a bad driver myself. A vicious circle… :o
I guess I’ll stick with the old-school tools to deal with bad drivers: horn, high beam and finger! (Just kidding)
