Trying to add my company but getting a "Saving Error"

Hello. I’m trying to add my company using the Waze Map Editor and I’m getting an error message that says: “You have no permissions to make some of the changes” and “SUGGESTION Check and try again”. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I’m sorry - I meant geographically - were you saving to a locked segment or location? DO you know how to send a permalink?

Refresh the browser and “remember” the current editing window information - click on the permalink icon . Any unsaved edits will be lost, and the chat window will be cleared. The current map permalink will be copied to the address bar, and may be copied for sharing with other editors.

To create a permalink without refreshing the browser, hover the mouse over the Wme permalink icon on the right side of the bottom bar until a message pops up to use ctrl-C. Then use Ctrl+C (or on a Mac ⌘ Cmd+C) to copy the permalink. Or simply right-click on the permalink icon and choose the browser menu option to copy the link address or URL.

To include a single place, junction, or segment in the permalink, click on it before using the permalink icon. To include several segments, use ctrl+click (MAC: ⌘ Command+click).

Thanks for your PL. As a new editor, Waze considers you not “trustworthy” until a group of your suggestions have been approved by senior editors. When that happens your place suggestions appear automatically. I will approve the placement of the location but it is missing a great deal of information. Waze is not a “personal use” product so places marked “work” are summarily deleted. When a place is put in with all relevant information then we’ll approve it readily.

When adding places you should provide all the information you can to make it more likely that editors will approve it. That information is summarized here. Specifically not all places are “areas” as those appear on the app. Smaller companies should all be mapped as point places.
