We have been asked (for now at least) to keep turn radius in mind and only to enable them on main roads, not in residential areas.
One of our informal rules of thumb is “Can our RC turn his Class-A through this movement?”
The Class A guidance is not going to apply to U-turns. I made that same mistake with the gang up north. Full guidance forthcoming shortly, but one thing we have agreed upon is anywhere a U-turn is specifically allowed by signage on MH, mH, or PS. Never enable on Streets, unless there are special circumstances. Check with a senior editor before doing so. This is for both vehicle-size and routing reasons.
Other than that, there will be a Turn radius/distance - based guide, as well. Info “soon”.

I missed this conversation. Besides the potential if the street is less than one lane wide per direction and it is difficult to physically turn a large vehicle, is there any other reason to prevent u-turns at intersections of streets?
