# Unlock request in Jersey City, New Jersey

Hi Editors,

I would like to be able to edit the following segment(s).  
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Reason: I’m a level 1 editor. I’m trying to edit the entrance to my building and add the road that leads to the entrance. The road coonects to the JFK Blvd, but it’s locked to level 3. Screenshot attached.

Dear Ratatuske,

Thank you for your desire to contribute to Waze. I went ahead and added the Parking Lot Road and connected it to JFK Blvd. The reason I chose to do that rather than downlock JFK was because of the numerous errors I saw with what you had drawn. Don’t despair, these are common mistakes made by new editors. First of all, the segments are not Streets they are Parking Lot Roads or PLRs. This has a major influence on how segment data is collected and how routing would be handled from JKF. Leaving it as a Street segment would mean that Waze would suggest it as an option for possible required UTurn reroutes, thus routing users through your parking lot which is not acceptable. Additionally, the way the Triangle was designed, you had 2 ends of a segment connected at the same place. This completely breaks the Waze routing algorithm and thus would potentially cause users errors when exiting the parking lot and trying to use Waze. No 2 segments can be connected to each other directly at both ends.

From there you can find resources for editing and information on how to join our community.

The changes I’ve made will take about 2 days to hit your app. You should then see the new segments in your Waze app.
