Hi - Riverdale avenue is closed to westbound traffic (it’s reduced to one lane eastbound) from approximately 80m east of Carlaw through to Pape in Toronto. It’s been that way for at least two weeks, possibly quite a lot longer.
For a while, Waze thought it was closed completely (would not route you on that road east or westbound).
A week or two ago, it started thinking it was completely open and now tries to route you on it both ways.
For whatever reason, the city is not indicating this closure on it’s website either. I’ve called them to see if they’ll fix that, fwiw.

Do you have any dates for this closure? For the moment I have put it into Waze until the end of April (just a guess on my part).

Hi - The city doesn’t know anything about it, but I was able to find the construction notice on Metrolinx’s site, here.
That notice says that the closure will be 3 months starting approximately Feb 18. So that might mean it wraps up ~April 18th?
However, this update says that the “impacts from the previously implemented work zone on Riverdale Avenue related to microtunnel launch shaft works will remain in place” and had a 5 month duration starting end of March.
I find that wording unclear as to whether it’s extending the “impact” or just saying the existing closure-until-mid-April is remaining a thing.
I tried calling Metrolinx, but they didn’t answer. I’ve sent them an email and will respond back here when/if I hear something.

Thanks for doing that research. To be safe, I will extend it until the end of August. If the road reopens before that time, we can end the closure early.
I’m subscribed to this thread, so tagging isn’t required, but better safe than sorry. There should be a way you can mark this thread as ‘Solved’.
FYI Metrolinx responded to my closure duration question:
"I wanted to confirm that the lane reductions on Riverdale Avenue projected to remain in place until the end of October of this year.
Before the lanes are reopened, the following works need to be completed: micro tunnelling boring machine works, extraction works, connection to new sewer, and restoration works (notices will be distributed in advance of these works). "
So, end of Oct.
