REAL/CORRECT ADDRESS: 33 Brentmoor Park, Clayton, MO 63105
1ST PROBLEM: This address is listed in your system (& other systems) in a variety of ways, but shouldn’t be. The following addresses are obsolete addresses and should be removed completely as they don’t even exist.
33 W Brentmoor Park, Clayton, MO 63105
33 Brentmoor Park East, Clayton, MO 63105
33 Brentmoor Park, University City, MO 63105
2ND PROBLEM: If you’ve deleted all of the obsolete addresses listed above, that will solve this issue too. Each of the addresses listed above FOR THE SAME ADDRESS give different routing directions which ultimately leaves many drivers at the dead end of a street (E Brentmoor), rather than at our house. The directions you have for 33 Brentmoor Park (the correct address) are right. The directions you have for both 33 Brentmoor Park East & 33 W Brentmoor (neither of which are really even an address), routes people down E Brentmoor to a dead end.
Either all of the erroneous addresses need to be deleted, or the route to all of the erroneous addresses needs to match the route for 33 Brentmoor Park, Clayton, MO 63105.
3RD PROBLEM: When you turn into our subdivision, you turn in on W Brentmoor, but almost immediately (at the split) the road name changes to Brentmoor Park. Your maps show the entire street/circle as W Brentmoor rather than Brentmoor Park. If that were corrected, that will help with all of the confusion too. Thanks for your time.
Unfortunately this is a problem with Google Maps, from which Waze pulls some search data. We can try to submit updates to Google but there’s no guarantee of a resolution there.
I can say that one of our editors updated this for the Waze map a few weeks ago when you sent a report via the app.
I do have a question: What do the street signs say when entering the area? Is it still W Brentwood Dr?
Thank you so much for responding. I have attached some pictures to answer your question and to hopefully better explain things.
When you turn into the subdivision, the initial street sign still says W Brentmoor Dr. After turning onto W Brentmoor Dr though, you are almost immediately met with a fork in the road that has a huge map showing the different addresses in the subdivision, and that the real street name is W Brentmoor Park (see attached). However, there are absolutely no other street signs in the subdivision.
On the WAZE app, I can see that the PIN for 33 Brentmoor Park East was moved to the address also listed as 33 Brentmoor Park, which is correct. And it shows a corrected route now. But there still should not be a separate listing with the word East on the end of it (see pic), There is no such address.
The PIN for 33 W Brentmoor Park has been moved to the address also listed as 33 Brentmoor Park. However, the route has not been adjusted (see attached pic), and still leaves drivers at a dead end road (E Brentmoor Rd) behind our house. Look closely at the pic to better understand the issue.
I would love for you to try to submit these corrections to Google Maps too. I’ve submitted them about 4 times, in a variety of ways, but don’t seem to be getting too far with it. Thanks again!
When I search for 33 Brentmoor Park, it takes me to the correct location and not to the dead-end. You may need to clear your search history for the address in order to get an updated result. Visit this Waze Help Center article for the procedure: View & manage recent locations - Waze Help
I don’t know where the Brentmoor Park East result is coming from. It’s not showing up anywhere on Waze or Google Maps, but I do see it as a result in the Waze search.
With respect to W Brentmoor Dr, if that’s the wrong name then why is it on the street signs? This is something the neighborhood needs to fix if it’s a problem.
I agree with you that the street sign saying W Brentmoor Dr is a huge part of the problem and makes no sense at all. I will work with the HOA on getting that corrected. I think the changes you have made will help tremendously. There are still just a couple of little kinks.
I had someone else get on their laptop and go to Waze.com. When they entered 33 Brentmoor Park, 33 Brentmoor Park East popped up as a suggestion for them too (see pic).
33 Brentmoor Park E is showing up on google maps (see pic). It’s PIN is placed at what looks like a cul de sac on the maps, but it’s really a large driveway for the address 16 Brentmoor Park (see pic). I believe this is the main source of the problem.
Is there a way to delete that address from your system completely? I’ll continue to work with Google maps to try to get them to delete/fix it too. But so far, I’m not getting very far with them. I appreciate all of your help with this so much!
Where the PIN is dropped on Google maps/Waze for 33 Brentmoor Park East.
Short answer is that even if that address was in the Waze database, deleting it won’t fix the problem. The only fix is to get Google to fix the address. Longer answer follows below.
Warning: this is going to be an “inside baseball" post. One of the most annoying things about how Waze search works is also one of our most useful features. If an address or point of interest (POI) doesn’t exist in the Waze database, the search engine then consults Maps. That’s great if Maps is right. It’s terrible if Maps is wrong, and it’s even worse when Maps doesn’t have the address in it’s database. That search engine will then take a guess based on logic that’s never been explained (and probably won’t be since Google’s core business revolves around search). Maps then sends that result back to Waze as if it’s written on a stone tablet. Waze obviously doesn’t know that Maps just took a WAG and tells the driver that "this is the way.” Said driver then follows the directions given, and on arrival at the fictitious destination says " that [unprintable] app took me to the wrong spot. I’m chucking it in favor of Google Maps. “

We can’t manually clear Google Maps addresses from Waze search. Has to be done via Google Maps. I’ve submitted a correction.
Thank you. I’m going to try to get someone at Google Maps to read through our chat here to get a better understanding of the issue. I appreciate ALL of your help!
