Hi everyone,
Tl;Dr - This post is a heads-up that in the upcoming weeks Waze will update most of the European TTS voices for voices with a better quality. Waze users will notice a slight distinction between the previous and the new voices, but no further action is needed from the users’ end.
As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the user experience, the Google TTS team will implement a significant update to several voices available in European markets. These newly refined voices boast superior quality and a more natural tone, contributing to a more immersive and enjoyable driving experience for Waze users. We understand the importance of personalization, so users will still have the ability to select their preferred voice within the Waze settings.
The updated voices will replace their older counterparts while retaining the same familiar names, ensuring a seamless transition for users. There’s no action required on your part to enjoy these enhancements.
What can you expect?
If you are using one of the voices from the list below you see that the voice still has the same name and gender but is a bit different from the previous one.
