Responding to a UR in Borehamwood from someone navigating to the local Screwfix on this trading estate:
https://www.waze.com/en-GB/editor/?env=row&lon=-0.25318&lat=51.64591&s=119536915&zoom=6
Screwfix is already located correctly as a point place, inked to the only Google place result I can find for this destination.
In the app, searching for “Screwfix Borehamwood” gives two results in Borehamwood in the results list - one is listed with an address of “Stirling Way, Borehamwood” and gives routes to the correct location, the second is listed with an address of “Moda Centre, Borehamwood” and causes routes to end on the adjacent A1.
Looking at the locations details in the app, it appears that both of these two results are being returned by Waze as both appear on the Waze tab. Clearly there isn’t a Waze place at this specific spot, and a quick look around the places in the vicinity don’t show any which have an alternate name or routing stop point incorrectly set that could be causing this “Moda Centre” result to appear.
Is this just another one of those phantom Waze places that we can’t do anything about in the editor, or is my copy of the app being economical with the truth when it suggests it’s coming from Waze and not some other source? And what are the options for resolving the problem?
Any advice, suggestions, or even just someone gently pointing out the glaringly obvious answer I may have missed here, would be appreciated ![]()
Cheers,
Chris
