What determines Major Hwy, Minor Hwy, Primary Street?

I read the wiki but given the large distances involved in the country areas here I wondered if I should make the main routes (as shown on the street-directory website which appears to be the web front end of one of the major hard copy street directory companies over here the Melway and associated publications group) a minor highway so Waze would use them in preference to driving a long way further to get on the actual highways.

In my opinion thats for the Waze algorithm to work out.

If it does or not is another thing.

We used to use workarounds for these things but we have been told to make it as close as possible what it should be (if we can ever decide on that :))
