Carnival in Salvador
The street carnival in Salvador attracts millions of people from around the world, an estimated 2 million people throng the streets on any given day of the festivities. The crowds dance in groups as they follow bands (called trios elétricos) that play on moving stages atop big trucks carrying massive sound equipment. The trios elétricos roll along two main circuits, while another circuit features a more traditional form of carnival. The Waze community has updated the map with significant road closures and will continue to add hazards as they unfold in real-time.
