Re: [Update] Turn Instructions
I do not mean that. A “view only” will not show custom visual instructions or speak a TTS override.
You’re right though that “None” VPO should be included as an equivalent to best continuation. Good catch.

Re: [Update] Turn Instructions
Turn instructions will only be displayed and heard where a voice prompt is given, either [[Junction_Style_Guide/Controlling_turn_instructions|natively]] or with a [[Voice_prompt|voice prompt]] override. Visual instructions will not be shown, and TTS overrides will not be spoken, for either a [[best...

Re: [Update] Turn Instructions
I agree, and that’s not my intention, it just sounds like a facially meaningless sentence.
Perhaps also include between those two sentences “Unless a voice prompt override is selected, adding custom visual and/or TTS instructions does not guarantee that a turn instruction will be given.”

Re: [Update] Turn Instructions
It's not just the visual instructions that won't be shown though, it's the whole thing. The TTS override won't be spoken either. I would add this to the end of the Overview intro. Maybe in a Note box. Turn instructions will only be displayed and heard where a turn instruction is given. Visual instr...

Re: [Update] Turn Instructions
I suppose I assumed or hoped that it was self-evident that you only see a turn instruction when there is a turn instruction… but I get what you’re saying. Because like lanes you can add it even where it doesn’t do anything.

Re: [Update] Turn Instructions
Compass directions should be spelled out using large-and-small-caps (Nᴏʀᴛʜ, Sᴏᴜᴛʜ, Eᴀꜱᴛ, Wᴇꜱᴛ) when they are used to represent a direction of travel , and should always be placed in the provided Direction field when they are used in conjunction with a shield (even if placed above or to the left...

Re: Wayfinders
Ever since Lanes’ release I’ve been meaning to rationalize the content of this page, including by merging in some of the content from the “when to use Continue voice prompt override” section of that article to make “Wayfinder” a one-stop shop for the question “When should I make sure that the Wazer ...

Re: Updating guidance on mapping forests, lakes, and rivers
0F09FE99-FD56-4B21-BF1B-BE6320B3B28B.png Glad you mentioned that actually Joe. A few years ago I added the quads as “parks” on the Tulane and Loyola campuses, and it adds a nice bit of flair to an otherwise gray blob. Might be nice to also add unnamed park areas to, e.g., the fields of open-air sp...

Re: Updating guidance on mapping forests, lakes, and rivers
i'm in favor of a change with a caveat- instead of just the table saying it's ok to map there is a section for Natural features added under "Detailed guidance for select categories" in the places wiki. The natural features section can address the concerns of mapping over existing water la...

Re: [Script] WME Wide-Angle Lens
I would suggest either tagging or listing separately the potential false positives, but I do think it’d be good to include them.
