Taking Waze out for a day on the slopes. Must be trying to find the quickest route to the shortest lift line.

Road was already marked private...guess they just really needed an excuse for why they were on the property to see those decorations

They just need to turn the brightness up on their phone.

Or turn on their headlights! :o

Because you didn't leave me enough information to fix it. I figured you would have figured that out from getting the 50 emails that said "txemt attempted to fix your issue, but didn't have enough information to fix it."

Oh I agree with you, but it doesn't change the fact that some people are dense and/or self-centered :)

I may be naive but I have taken these repeated reports to mean interest in the map or at least in the route they are getting. The key word is "interest" for whatever their reason. I really don't think someone would be posting all those reports just for points. Not that the interest in necessarily positive but we do have their attention. Unfortunately it may be frustration which isn't usually a good thing.

Yeah I think it is usually frustration if it is the same user reporting the same thing over and over again.... "I told you yesterday, this is wrong!" "why is this still not fixed!" "oh come on!"

That is another valid approach, but my concern is that sometimes we can get a valid correction from someone scrolling the map. Especially for roads that don't actually exist. It is hard to drive out to the middle of the forest to report that you can't drive there ;) (Especially if there is no cell service.)

And before we just say direct them to the livemap on the web, 1.) that isn't totally user friendly to tell someone "yeah, that thing you are looking at right now? Remember it and try to find it over on a website you will need to pull up on another machine" and 2.) not everyone may have access to a device that can use the livemap as more and more people live on their phones and tablets.

RE: screenshots... probably too much trouble for privacy concerns (even if there are none) and size/storage of files.

So instead, give two points on an UR... one being location where the device is at the time and the other being the center of the view on the screen at the time. Or even a rectangle object showing exactly the bounds of the screen view at the time of the report.

That won't help if the issue is a graphics bug or glitch, but for actual map problems, that should be helpful.

That way, we might be able to figure out what the drivers are TRYING to report. :)

I would normally classify problems such as this a "a loose nut on the keyboard".
However, I think that some tweaks to the client interface could eliminate a lot of these problems.
(it would get rid of some of the fun, however.)

I'll bet you good money that this person was sitting at home and panning the map thinking that they can report things they are looking at.

That said, screenshots could be nice help in some situations.

Or like reporting cameras, a user thinks that by panning the map on their screen they magically transport themselves to the location they are looking at ;)
