Re: [Script] UROverview Plus v3.109 (20170813)

Postby Twister-UK » Sun Aug 13, 2017 3:44 pm

3.109 brings the following changes to the table:

  • Compatibility fixes for the new native restriction storage format, including difficult turns...
  • Popups auto-hide when the mouse pointer leaves the map area, or if a native drop-down menu is opened.
  • Added option (on the Misc tab) to auto-hide popups after x seconds.
  • Venue edit history entries now show name changes in their actual case rather than all in uppercase.

Wow, did not know this. Thanks

I think it's safe to say there's probably some functionality in URO that even I'm now no longer aware of, given how long ago it was added or how WME now interacts with my hacks. One day, when my todo and bugfix list is completely empty, my AM area is devoid of all URs, MPs, PURs etc. etc., when there's not so much as a single solitary thing left for me to do in Waze, I may, just possibly, consider taking on the not entirely insignificant challenge of trying to document exactly what URO does.

Until then, however... ;)

Unfortunately it doesn't solve my biggest problem, popups covering a segment I'm trying to select.

This shouldn't be happening, unless WME has decided to start displaying scrollbars where it normally wouldn't - this does occasionally happen here, and the extra few pixels of screen width they take up can affect the placement calculations URO does to decide where the popup should go. Since I've only ever seen scrollbars appearing if either WME itself has glitched during page load, or if another script has a rendering issue which is forcing WME to display scrollbars when it natively wouldn't, it's not something I've tried to address within URO.

If this is the problem you're facing, and if you're running any other scripts, can you please try disabling them until you find out which one is causing the scrollbars to appear, and then see if URO popups start displaying in more appropriate locations.

Otherwise, if it's causing you genuine issues which you can't work around either by zooming in/out a little, panning the map so that the highlighted segment is in the middle of the map view, and/or approaching the segment from a different angle with your mouse pointer (the point at which URO first detects the highlight being rendered can influence where it then places the popup), then you can always disable popups entirely from the Misc tab - there's a list of checkboxes there which enable/disable popups on a per-object basis, so you can switch off segment popups without affecting others.

Although neither of those options exist, you can double-click on a popup to hide it whilst the condition which caused it to appear (e.g. highlighting a segment) is still present.

is this happening everywhere on the map, or just in certain areas? If you can narrow it down to certain areas, a permalink would be useful. If not, and if I can't figure out a reason for it beforehand, I'll stick some extra diagnostics code into the next release to help you gather the data I'll need to fix it.

Not entirely sure when the next release will be, BTW - every time I start looking at the new restriction data structures in an attempt to finish off supporting them, I find my eyes starting to glaze over and my mind wandering off onto things that require slightly less effort to process...

Panic over, looks like it was just a temporary server glitch and/or local PC issue...

Whilst I'm here - I'm aware that this latest WME update has *definitely* broken the segment restrictions list in the segment popup. I'm already working on supporting the new restrictions data format so no need to ask me about it, a fix will be ready soon ;)

Has the latest WME update totally buggered up the enhanced edit history for everyone else, or is it just my PC that's decided to throw a strop? Worryingly, I'm no longer seeing *any* of the extra data returned from the server as part of a segment history fetch request, which URO+ was using to flesh out the edit history entries - if the server really has stopped dishing out all of that data then there's not a lot I can do about it, so I'm really hoping this is just a temporary glitch and not a deliberate decision on the part of the dev team...

3.108 restores DTE functionality, and the edit history enhancement feature is, umm, enhanced ;) However difficult turn support isn't included, yet...
