Well I labeled the reported map error as "not identifiable" and will wait for another report to see if it occurs again. If it does, then I can investigate further.

Are you sure this is an address lookup error then? Because google's results for a POI at the same address are often different because they store the POI data separately. With google POI info, you can go into Google editor and request the pin be moved.

Why would you search on google? Search in the Waze editor and that will return the same location that the app does.

In the US, Bing is used exclusivly for address lookup - POI search is handled by a variety of providers (that you can select from the tabs on the results page).

When I search Bing for "500 S Mateo Ave, Los Angleos, CA" it returns results for "500 Mateo St, Los Angeles, CA 90013" with the pin exactly where WME puts it.

When I looked at Google, a search for "500 S Mateo Ave, Los Angleos, CA" returned results for "500 Mateo St Los Angeles, CA 90013", with the pin located significantly to the northwest on the building that is shaped like a 1/4 circle.

Post Office addresses sometimes diverge from the addresses given by city or county zoning. This is why there is sometimes both a physical address and a mailing address for a place. Often they are the same, but this seems to be one of those cases where they are not. Also, if a large building that processes its own mail, as seems to be the case here, spans multiple city zoned lots, it often just uses one of them for its address, but that doesn't mean the others still don't exist, and the city does have addresses for them.

Since navigation systems typically go by physical city lot addresses, being that they are used to find a physical place, rather than to mail someone a letter, Waze will likely route to the spot where the building's mailing address reflects the actual city lot, which sometimes unfortunately isn't the entrance to the building.

If you frequently visit a place like this, it's best to just pull up at the front of the building or where you'd normally park and use your current location to find out what the city lot address there is and store that as a favorite to use as your destination. That's what I have to do with several places here in New Jersey where the post office and local town can't seem to agree on addresses. But beyond that, I think that these kinds of discrepancies are unfortunately beyond the scope navigation systems like Waze.

I searched in WME for "500 S Mateo Ave, Los Angleos, CA" it returned 2 possible results: "500 Mateo St, Los Angeles, CA 90013" & "S Mateo St, Los Angeles, CA 90021". Since you referenced 4th Place, I'm guessing this is the result you are looking for...

The pin is closer to E 4th Pl, which is why Waze is routing there (as explained in the FAQ). To make Waze route to Mateo Ave, the pin needs to be moved (again see the FAQ - especially the link that is the last two words).

Just for reference this is the "S Mateo St, Los Angeles, CA 90021" result:

Somehow this building has the address for S Mateo for mailing purposes and its throwing off users and causing reports.

Did you read the FAQ answer? It has nothing to do with the names of streets but is all about where the search providers have the GPS location of that address. To me, it is all about what the FAQ answer says and tells you what to do.
