It's a bit of a sore point for me, actually. The original section
included wording borrowed from one of my posts on the subject in an earlier thread
, saying that we should "err on the side of caution" and restrict a turn, rather than give drivers illegal directions, especially during periods of heavy traffic.
Then the wording was reversed
without discussion, and it remained like that for a couple months, until the thread was re-opened
to object to the change. The discussion then picked up in the thread that I cited a few posts ago
