Why? Browser differences in Map Problem Type dropdown menu

Postby AlanOfTheBerg » Tue Feb 15, 2011 3:03 am

Hi all,

Perhaps this is well-known, but I just stumbled upon it. And this isn't earth-shattering news, but more of a "Huh. That's odd." The Map Problem drop-down menu for Type is dramatically different on different browsers.

Examples:

Firefox 3.6.13 OSX . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Firefox 3.6.13 Win7
[ img ] . [ img ]

Chrome 9.0.597.102 OSX . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Chrome 9.0.597.98 Win7
[ img ] . [ img ]

Safari 5.0.3 OSX . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Safari 5.0.3 Win7
[ img ] . [ img ]

Conclusions:
  • Firefox has the most limited and badly sorted list; it doesn't contain "Merger" or "All"
  • Chrome and Safari tie for the longest list
  • Safari appears to be the best for organization

Anyway, for what it's worth, I find it ... interesting.

This has driven me crazy for a long time. Lately using Chrome on my PC, my list looks pretty much exactly like the screenshot you posted for Firefox (no "Merger" or "All" options to be found!). Over a week ago, however, it looked like the screenshot you posted for Chrome (full list, including "Merger" and "All").

My merger and all options have disappeared from chrome before. I think I even posted a picture of it when it happened... but of course they mysteriously reappeared. Now, months later, they're gone again.

I swear I'm not crazy. :?
