Introducing Myself

Post by asterix06
I am asterix06, my name is Silvio
I am located in Italy.
My purpose is to build up a road "backbone" in Zambia to let more and more people get benefit from the use of Waze.

I started moving from Lusaka to build main roads.

I would be pleased if already existing editors would like to participate to the project.

Start to write here so we can build up a Local Community

Hi, I am Kevin

I assist a fleet of vehicles (30) in route risk assessments and route hazard maps as well as run tourism routes (unfortunately GPS signal limits updating of Waze maps) and am a member of a 1000 plus people traffic update groups.

We recently have new speed cameras that have been installed all around Lusaka for nearly 2 months now and locals are complaining bitterly and searching for a decent app that can monitor the speed camera installations and limitations along with warnings within the app.

I see this as an excellent opportunity to obtain additional followers using Waze. Currently, they are looking at Radarbot, but it is not as advanced as Waze as it does not reflect cameras on the correct side of the road on a dual highway as well as front or rear facing cameras and only updates later in the morning, so is not adequate.

Can we get the Camera section of the app and editor operational?

Additionally, it would be great if I could get a level increase to add roundabouts, edit major highways etc (as noticed the main road in Lusaka doesn't have basic intersections and turns cant be added due to limitation, dirt roads in Chirundu are a level higher and cant be changed from tar to dirt as a two levels higher). Sitting on level one does not solve issues and assist in developing the country and updating the repaired and new minor and major roads around the country.

I would very much like to have all our 32 drivers using the app and they travel from Johannesburg to Congo, along with Beira to Congo and Copperbelt in Zambia. We continually egt feedback from them on the route of road conditions, detours etc.

Hi Silvio

I reside in Chingola in Zambia's Copperbelt province. I also travel from time to time to Mkushi via Kapiri Mposhi on Zambia's main arterial road (Great north road) which runs north to south.

I have only recently joined but have actively been creating Chingola's town roads and hope to move on to surrounding towns soon. Especially as I "level" up.

Thank you for your help and interest in our country.

Ciao

Hi guys

I would very much like to be considered in the role of Area Manager. I live in Zambia and travel around the country a fair bit. Yesterday & today I covered 650km travelling to Mkushi in Zambia's central province from my home town of Chingola in the Copperbelt.

Part of the problem we have is that many areas in the country still lack good cellular coverage along the main road networks and so it makes it difficult to be able to "drive" those areas and have it properly register on Waze as having been there and thus one is not able to fully Edit the online map editor in many areas.

I hope my application can be considered favourably so that I may better contribute to the creation of Zambia's road network on Waze and even beyond.

Thank you
Paolo
