In case we haven't been introduced yet, my name is Karen from Waze Community Team. I am in charge of developing a new Wiki for the community that addresses many of the frustrations with the current Wiki platform and create a space that's built to serve a truly Global and diverse map-editing community. This project is called Wazeopedia.

As you may have heard, over the past few months the Global Wiki Moderators and Wiki Masters have been working hard to organize and develop the content going in to the new Global Wiki.

Since the Global Wazeopedia content is being edited to be true GLOBAL guidance (much of the old content that was very U.S. focused is being removed) there is now a need for local community wikis to be organized and built up so as to guide editors in your community how YOUR community operates.

I have spoken to your community managers and am now contacting coordinators and other members of communities that have historically been involved with Wiki content to ask for help in preparing us to launch the new Wazeopedia platform.

If you are already up-to-date on the project and want to get started building your communities local transfer package, follow these steps:
Start a Wiki thread in your Country Forum to keep everyone updated on progress
Ask for support from your Community leaders and find other editors interested in helping out. They don't have to be Wiki Masters to help on the project, feel free to assemble your own team.
Read through this presentation on how to build a transfer package.
Request access to THIS SPREADSHEET and paste a link to your communities transfer package in the marked column.

Important dates:
We will put a soft deadline of Local Wiki transfer packages for the end of January and a hard deadline - meaning we will deactivate the old wiki (without deleting it) - at the end of April.
