Yep,
There are still maybe a few I think.
Had to laugh at the City size for Ballivor, Co. Meath at one time - bigger than Dublin. There was also another small town as big again in Co. Galway.
Overall though think we're doing a reasonable job to keep accuracy as good as possible.

Hope you're keeping well.

Arthur.

Looks like the 3 of us are in agreement on that then! lol
Have we any new data sources for the naming of roads? or are we still using the LPS?

'morning Pip,

LPS?

I'm still using road number (where known, which it almost always is for M-, N- and R- roads, and where visible either in person or in Street View for L- roads) combined with road name (if there is one and it's known). For rural roads (of type street or primary street, but not higher) outside towns and villages where there isn't an actual known road name, I use the name of the townland that the road passes through, and I get the townland boundaries from the OSI online maps.

The Three Wise Men! LOL.

Local knowledge, field trips, and interaction with local people, especially those involved in historical societies, local police and council/city offices representatives, still the best way for me. I've developed a great affiliation with roads staff in practically every county and city council. I find them brilliant - could not be more helpful. As a matter of fact most invite me now to new road openings and even turning the sod on commencement of new builds.

The other way is to rely on local editors, even those who are not so active. Developing and interaction facilities the ability to make an inquiry, which in the main is usually answered over time.

Luckily Ireland is so small in scale!

Cheers,

Arthur.

Aha. Not Land and Property Services? (going by what Wikipedia says happened seven years ago: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordnance_S ... rn_Ireland )

Yes that too... You'll have to forgive me, running at a few 100% above maximum for rather too long makes ones brain not work properly, sorry.
