new automatic map problems

Postby davidg666 » Tue Oct 11, 2016 11:05 am

There are lots of new automatically-generated map problems showing up, the most common of which is "Segment without details detected".

Since we have a lot of un-named segments, we have a lot of these problems. Rather than marking the segments with these problems as not having a street name and not having a city name, can we go to the trouble of finding the correct street name or leave the map problems open until we have time to find the name?

Yeah, there are four new types of map problem now; see here, although the unnamed segment one seems to be most common around here (for obvious reasons).

I know that lake :)

However, I see you've already moved the navigation point as far away from it as possible. For lakes that are near roads, it makes sense to put the navigation point on a road, especially if it's a large lake with an obvious harbour or parking place - but that isn't the case here.

I think the correct thing to do here is mark this one as not identified. Is that was it was marked as the first time it showed up?

That's a good idea.

Actually I remember now, I moved the navigation point and marked it as solved. So I'll mark it as not identified now, and let's see.
