Hello Arthur,

Cheers and safe motoring.

Arthur.
I'm here in my Holidays for two weeks. My points are "german" points. Staying in Dingle. I'll try to fix route problems between Dublin and Dingle. Mainly the complete broken N86.

Just edited: Dingle city, Most parts of Slea Head Drive, Cost line around Dingle Peninsula, N86 road geometry

It could be more, but ...
The editor sucks. Not all of my drives are uploaded. The Road layer does not update for some part since days. Missing high resolution imagery.

Hi Arthur,

First, sorry for any misunderstanding .

Setting railways to level far from any normally used level is best practice as described in the forum . Setting to unknown may my own style to better distinguish the railroads from normal streets. But in former days "unknown " was labeled "no entry ".

Hi Arthur,

You schould not be overmodest. I see your work everywhere on the map. Editing Ireland is much more harder as Germany. Because we have a basemap. Most Bing imagery for Germany is exact. Only a bit outdated. I see the imagery for Tralee is mostly exact for the western part of the city but the eastern part is maybe shifted by some meters.

In short. You do a very good job for Ireland. Comparable with argus-cronus or talisker for Germany.

Hello Tom,

Was doing a scout around the country in search of errors before hitting the sack. Came across the error near Borris and stuck in the missing roundabout.

Did not see this forum post till afterwards.

Sorry if if I've jumped in prematurely!

Had not noticed you on Waze before, though you are well up there in the points!

Cheers and safe motoring.

Arthur.

Welcome to Ireland Tom,

Hope you enjoy your holidays, Irish hospitality and Dingle and that your labours on editing here will not go unrewarded. If you achieve as planned it will be a big bonus for the Irish Map.. BTW, Dublin/Dingle is already giving two routes rapidly on the Live Map.

The editor can really suck from time to time! It is a nuisance and an extra challenge that we don't have high resolution imagery throughout the country.

Your overall views on your Waze experience in Ireland would be appreciated.

Stay in touch from Germany if you can. Connections available via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn?

Safe driving

Sincerely,

Arthur.

Not raising issue with assigned level! Probably was that to start with. I was just stating the full description in my comment. Why touch it at all? For what possible reason was it revisited and re-edited is all I want to know? Only Tom can answer that!

Thank you Tom,

Understood! I'm still pretty new to Waze and am forever trying to learn more. I appreciate your comments.

I think in due course we should be converting railways to landmarks in Ireland.

Safe journey home on Thursday.

Sincerely,

Arthur.

I can't speak for Tom (obviously) but setting the railway line to level -5 seems reasonable to me, and although setting its directionality to unknown makes little sense, it's also harmless, since the line will never be used for routing.

I usually set railway lines to level -5 or +9, and make sure they're not connected to any road segments.
