From the point of view of editing permissions, even a blob drawn in the rough shape of the country that's about 30km bigger than the actual coastline would do.

I'll happily draw one on the back of an envelope from memory, with my eyes closed, with a crayon, and make it available to Waze for free :)

Forgot to mention: do you know that landmarks now have a handle in the centre that you can use to drag the entire landmark? Might take a bit of fiddling (and it might be slow if the landmark has a lot of nodes), but you can probably fix that.
Good point - I noticed that showing up recently; didn't think of applying it to this landmark though!

thanks,

Oof; that was fiddly - the drag handle is in the middle of the bay, which is quite large - so when you zoom in far enough to drag the handle, there are no visible points of reference, so it's hard to work out how far to drag it.

Oh, and it looks like some parts of the bay were drawn with the old satellite images, and some with the new ones, so the quay outlines in some villages are right, and some are wrong. Plenty more tweaking remains for a rainy day...

Hi Des,
CTCNetwork wrote:Openstreetmap have a world coast line map I think. They use it in Navdroid and it is listed as a seperate map to download should you want it.
Presumably it's protected by Openstreetmap's copyright conditions and we can't use it directly (except perhaps as a reference?) for Waze sea/ocean landmark creation?

I noticed this when I was editing in North Cornwall yesterday. I'm pretty sure it wasn't me but you never know.

I can try (just hope it wasn't me ...)

That's exactly why I thought it would be fiddly!

I've sent the official coastline (high-water level) for GB to Waze in the (vain) hope they'll import it into the map.

If anyone can find a rights-free outline of Ireland, let me know...
