Apparently this person doesn't like Waze or anything that will afford efficiency in his life. He thinks we should all just find our own way out of traffic.

I think it depends on whether you'd like to know generally the best way to get to Hollywood (so you can, for instance, make an inside joke on the Tonight show) or if you would rather like to know the best way to get to Hollywood right now. Some of us can handle both. I'm not so sure about the author of the op-ed.

Hrm... I mean while I do in general feel like a lot of people that have a nostalgia for how things used to be and doing things the hard way have some merit in that many of us have become dependent and lazy upon using technology, it is still a valid tool that can be used.
Final Point of the article wrote:“Take Fountain,” Bette Davis once told Johnny Carson when he asked the best way for an actress to get to Hollywood. Davis did not need Waze to understand this, and we don’t either.
If I am brand new to Hollywood and don't have a friend in the area, I wouldn't have any idea and unfortunately I may not have the luxury of exploring and finding the best way out which is when I most often use Waze. He has a point in the sense that:
The Article Premise wrote:But instead, Waze just makes me anxious, with its assumption that I can’t get around Los Angeles on my own.
.

That is when I most often use Waze, especially to get to places where I can't get around on my own!

Do I pop open Waze to get to my grocery store or to my best friend's apartment, sure, but I don't need it but it can be helpful if there is traffic or a road closure that I was not made aware, however, most of my Wazing comes when I am trying to get to a place that I may not have been before.

I honestly feel that this piece is much more about his feelings of technology and how things *should* be for him rather than any given App and that perhaps Waze was just used as a catchy title to help garner views, which for him, was successful since I read it.
