Wazers don't show up

I don't know if it is possible that after driving through 3 states I didn't see any wazer icons show up on my Waze ap. There were a few reports of accidents or police, but I never once "saw" another wazer. Is there a setting that turns them off?

Whenever I'm sitting in the same car with my wife she doesn't show up at all most of the time. When she does its 30-an hour into the trip. She also doesn't show up as a friend unless she's on the map. There are other waze friends that haven't used waze in months but they are always there.

You're not the only one who doesn't see his fellow Wazers on the map. No one seems to know why either.
