Multiple edits count as one map edit?

Post by pmnarsapur
Hi,

Is it still the case that multiple segements edit count as a single edit?
Tried finding on forum but only go below comment posted on May 2011.

mapcat, your experience is valuable and may explain more than the following catch-all response from Shirli. Although, she may be 100% spot-on too with the correct answer. Either way, I think I'll try editing without doing multiple selections unless I'm in a hurry.
Shirli wrote:Multiple road select counts as one map update and therefore the credit is for one map update accordingly.
However, it is possible that it will change soon so that the map updates will count according to the number of segments selected.

Best Regards,

Shirli
As per Shirli's comment, it could have changed sometime soon since then. Just curious if its still the old way or the map updates have changed?

So, instead of doing several edits on a single segment, do I get more points if I make one change per segment, save it, then make a second edit, save it, etc. etc.?

My vacation starts the 10th. :) Oh, and my job has changed yet again, so I may have a lot more time for editing now. :D

To stay within the editing guidelines, the key is to create all those parking lot segments, save, and then delete them. 2x edits.

My understanding is that you get credit for segments you've changed, regardless of how many times you click save. If you change each segment one at a time, or do them all in a block, the credit remains the same. I have heard, but not been able to confirm, that if you have more than 200 edits on the undo list, you will only get credit for 200.

There have been some tweaks to this point scheme, such as some edits (adding a road and giving it a city/state, street name) will get you another .5 pts.
Thanks. Confusion cleared :)

I just want to get first in my state once! Jondrush is hard to catch. Now that Alan informed me of the different points from the two editors, we got ourselves a game.

I may have to give that a try. He is going on vacation soon and will not be editing. ;) Going to nab my 500 miles in a week this week. I may just start this technique on Monday.
