I've no idea then I'm afraid. I don't use it as it is hopeless at understanding my Scottish accent! As are most people to be fair! ;)

Try XXXXXXXX

Verzonden met Tapatalk op mijn Samsung Galaxy Note(GT-N7000).

Oh I got that to work, using that phrase, the other phrase and one other method. But in terms of daily use I find asr is tedious

Reason: Removed the magic word(s) for enabling the secret mood.

ASR for Secret Moods?

Postby donnacrawford » Wed Aug 22, 2012 6:34 pm

Is the ASR for activating secret moods the voice prompt in Navigate -> Speak Now? or is it within another section of the app? For Android, UK.

Thank you for the help.

So I'm looking in preferences in the Waze directory on the SD Card now, but I can't spot the option yet. Do you know what the line is I'm looking for please? or what I should add to the file?

Cheers.

Edit: Ah brilliant crazycaveman, I just realised that you meant literally use Navigate to that string. The app is just restarting to enable the feature now. Thank you! :)

The process:

I selected Navigate, typed in ##@asr and hit enter
Restarted Waze when prompted
Selected Settings, then Voice Commands, and clicked Enable
Then back on the map screen I swiped the screen for the voice prompt to appear
I said the secret word and it asked me to say OK (albeit that wasn't obvious)
I said OK and Waze told me I was now a Monster :D

Sorted! Cheers!!! :D

At every noise or touch ASR opens the voice prompt now though, seeming a bit eager ;)

It is typed within the preferences file in the Waze directory (on the SD Card, or internal memory), and fits the clue and long letter count they gave us. Its not too hard to find and if anyone did give the answer the post would be removed, so hopefully you'll spot it :)

I'm not sure if you can browse the internal memory on the iPhone? I can't seem to find the original clues on their Facebook page..

I've just got a new phone, the HTC One X+, and was surprised to see the Purple Monster had not carried over from having activated it back on my previous mobile (HTC Desire Z, also Android).

So I went to recreate the process, and get to the point where I type ##@asr into Navigate, hit enter and it says "ASR Feature is disabled! Please restart". I click on OK but then Waze scrolls round in a circle without end saying "Searching...".

If I reboot the app I find that ASR is still set disabled.

Is this a common problem? and Is there a way round it please?

dmcconachie wrote:Have you tried again? The ##@asr instruction is a toggle so if it's already active that will disable it. From your description it sounds like that's what's happened.

Are you in North America?

You might be right there.. I was sure I saw it say Enabled previously.. but I tried again as I couldn't get the three finger tap to bring up the Voice prompt.

I tapped, swiped, slid and knocked, all with no luck. :(

Edit: You were right.. Thank you for that tip! I was enabling and disabling this feature with each attempt. I will leave it in enabled mode now, and just need to be able to load the voice prompt somehow :?

Thank you for your reply,

Yes, I've got the Enable box ticked, and have tried both modes - "Hand hover & three finger tap" and "3 finger tap only" - but cannot seem to activate it under either type when tapping/swiping/slapping the map screen.

Is this feature compatible with the HTC One X+ perhaps? I can't think of any other way in which to tap the phone with three fingers.

hehe :)

The HTC Media Link HD loads on a three finger swipe gesture, but I can't get the three finger tap to detect..

Is there a trick to it??
