I think that's rather unlikely. Waze's map editing toolkit runs best under Chrome, not Internet Explorer. The Waze client is not available for W8.

Both of those indicate to me that MS has not provided funding to Waze. Otherwise, there would have been a push to migrate both to MS-preferred platforms.

Is there public information to the contrary?

I don't think waze wants to use the metro (windows 8) design.
