Waze website/forum cookies/login problems galore

Is anyone besides me having any problems with the forums logging out unexpectedly and several times per day? I've found recently that the website login I have been using for over a year is now either not logging me in to the forums, or if it does, it seems to expire quickly. On top of that, the ucp.php workaround to login often just drops me right back to the login prompt with no message as if I hadn't actually tried to login. If I try 2-3 times, with or without the "always keep me logged in" checked, it will work again for a bit, but then often throws the "sid=" querystring parameter.

And by "unexpectedly" I mean that I can be browsing a non-public forum thread and hit reply and get the forum login prompt. Or, be composing a reply in any forum thread and hit "Submit" to be prompted with the "you must be logged in" prompt as well.

This has happened on multiple systems, windows and Mac and I have, on both cleared all cookies and cache related to Waze, only to have the problem recur within a few hours.

The editor doesn't seem to suffer the same issue.

To see what happens, I just tried the steps outlined in the quickhelp box (forum login was my search) to see if that makes any long-term difference.

Nope. No difference.

In fact, when I came to this thread after those steps, I couldn't reply because it had logged me back out already. Took 4 attempts at the ucp.php page to get logged in.

No, it doesn't. The forum user count isn't based on log-ins, but active users - including those who logged in via the cookie.

I still have a feeling that there is an impact... me active as a logged in user via the cookie plus me active as an anonymous non-logged in user.
I've experimented with other phpBB forums (with practically no traffic).... It goes from 1 Guest + 0 Registered Users to 0 guests + 1 Registered user when I log in.

If you look at the logs, there's a limited number of IP addresses that are used. I assume this is because of some sort of proxy server. I wonder if the problem only happens on certain IP addresses?
I've had several problems already today...

You may be on to something, the forums reports we are mostly using 10.*.*.* IP Addresses... These are private IP addresses that should be used only on internal networks (just like the 192.168.*.* that most people who have a router at home use).
