Such big threats. "I will quit being your free customer if you do this." Funny.
Without the users, the are no map updates, driving data, no one to advertise to. I suspect users leaving waze in large quantities would be a concern...

+1

Against FB too but 1 billion for sure on one hand and the risk of "a mode fading" (myspace) on the other hand ... I'll take the money too.

why google maps? wouldn't contribution to openstreetmap make a lot more sense?
I think he meant using google maps more than contributing to it.

I would too but I will miss TMP, light and speed radars, traps and dangers

I want at minumum .25 cents for each edit I've contributed to your possibly acquired navigation program. So far that's $92,550. If you request that I continue to spend my personal time improving your product my rate will continue to be .25 cents per edit and also an additional $15 per hour. Thank you.
(If waze stays waze I will continue for free on my own enjoyment and desire to help humanity)
I completely agree with you. No sense makes Waze sold our maps without compensating our work, perhaps with some papers of Facebook!!!

Yeah here is another article that Waze can be bought for up to $1B. I am very pleased and happy for Waze and its developers, because this is exactly what its all about, but I am worried as to how Google, if they end up with Waze, might change all this, and how exactly they will integrate their disgusting advertising.

I am also anti FB, but why just focus on the negative?
If Waze achieved so much with a fairly small team and limited resources, just imagine what the possibilities would be with more money and resources behind the teams.

What scares me most is the possibility of more exposure to entice masses more editors that cannot spell Wiki, or connect streets properly.

Well, same feeling. Everything but fb. I was already ill BK there were fb link and no G+ for example but working for this enemy of privacy on the Net and everywhere else, no, thank you!

If this is real with no condition of protection for the Waze entity, so bybye! :'-(

The worst possible news for Waze and Wazers. As a bleeding edge early adopter who joined Waze and began map editing in Canada before even base maps & satellite overlays - yes, literally on a blank screen based on my own driven tracks - I would seriously question continue sharing effort and data if FB was the controlling entity.

Working in IT & the net for over 20 years, FB has repeatedly demonstrated that they use, and abuse, user private data surreptitiously as part of a crooked business model capitalizing on lying to users.

All IMHO.
