+1 well put. In recent times I have frequently ignored Waze's route, cause a visual check showed there was no traffic on the other route, ending up stuck in traffic. It's that stupid thing about humans, they like to think for themselves.

Excited about the probability of linking with Google maps! (Also, for Waze, ~1 billion dollars doesn't hurt! :)

If you need evidence of the commercialisation of the Waze map, you can not have driven in the UK and not noticed the Nissan logo apearing all over the map.

I pulled over to answer my other phone (work) today and instead of getting the usual "are you stuck in traffic" I got Nissan branded pop-ups. I have no idea what they are about, and nissan cerainly dont have a site in the PC world carpark off Tolbar roundabout in Coventry...

On the plus side, does this mean we'll gain postcode searches? (Or, seeing as Waze will be a separate brand it will probably still require a separate Licence.)

Is ther any point from here on in bothering to update the map, or even use waze?

On my first day of using waze I was ranked 1,002, 000ish in the uk. Drove 50 miles and jumped to164k, 86k in a week, a warrior within a month and a knight within 2: What's troubling is that having done the math on 300 miles per week you can become a waze knight in 6 months - which means that I haven't actually achieved knight status, I was givenit by a lot of people who have installed waze and do not use it..

300miles per week gets a uk weekly ranking of 1.5k, but if you go "waze free" for a week you're still in the top 100k (actually did this in june). That gives almost 900, 000 uk registered users that did not use waze in the last week of june - so I got into the top 10% in a month cos 90% don't use it...

...Whats really bothering me is that we will loose the satisfation of hearing waze say "keep right onto A46" & knowing that I did that (with a lttle help)...

Only 10% of people in the UK who downloaded Waze appear to be using it so either 90% are casual user or they've switched. The point I was making was that if Waze Will use goggle maps then:
A) why update the map because if, as people are suggesting, it is integrated their will be no need? Which leads to...
B) Waze is a driving app not a map app that allows navigation, so to use Google maps will add all the " clutter" that Waze avoids. So now that you're going to get all the clutter...
C) why use Waze at all? Especially in light of the fact that...
D) goggle maps are now integrated with other key apps on the Sony car dock app - which appears to be the plan for android 4.3 in general

So, in summary: unless Waze only gets what it needs from Google maps to be a better driving app then it is effectively redundant...

And this may seem a really dumb question, why see your friends on Facebook and not Google+? Seeing as waze is now a google product?

Haven't had a PM, so I guess it isn't me...

Copying anyone's maps is a bit "risky":
I too have found numerous examples locally, but some of them are Google copies (and what's worse is they are locked at level 3 or above! - The Grand union Canal is a water feature not a walking trail - You can't walk through tunnels!)
However, you'd think OS maps would be a better source - Wrong... There are numerous examples of where the street names are wrong and, guess what, Google maps has exactly the same errors and until last weekend (When I noticed them) so did Waze!

In short, having an army of locals keeping the Waze map up to date, using "local knowledge" makes the maps more accurate, which should help improve the Google Maps.

As for G+, not in a hurry for that, everyone I know is on Facebook, except me...

Hi noam and Waze team...

What will happen to Facebook, Foursquare and Bing integration either in Waze app or WME after Google acquisition? I hope they will stay the same as they are besides new additions of Google Maps and G+.
