search does not return/recognise most of the destinations

All,

I am from Trivandrum, India. I am new user of WAZE mobile nav app. Most of my searches are being returned incorrectly. For an example, i searched for Chennai, but what I could see from the destination list is of some places within Trivandrum.

Also, is there any provision to pick the destination from the map itself, than typing in???

Few destinations that i tried, but failed:
Chennai
Bangalore
Vellore

Can anyone throw some light on this please!!!

You can tap/hold for a moment on a street location and have options to set as a destination or add to saved locations.

Nope. I simply typed in CHENNAI and expecting the search to return with the destinations within Chennai. But what i often got to see is,

"NH47 Trivandrum"
Chinmaya Lane, Trivandrum
etc.,

Geographically, Chennai is situated 800kms away from Trivandrum.

I am from India too, I am from Pune Maharashtra.

As per my understanding, waze defines City boundary by Roads marked in that city.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

you are seeing some places as Chennai instead of Trivandrum , because some roads in those area must be having city name as Chennai.

You can modify road your self, or report the map problem (either on client while driving through road or On Live Map).
The AM in your area will take care of update request and update road City name.
