I find that the Tauranga City Council map is helpful with street names etc. but not with the naming of areas within town (or I just don't know how to use it properly).

Are those enough?

So I am pretty much going by what people call it who live there.
I live in Pyes Pa myself and the local knowledge is that Pyes Pa starts at Barkes Corner and everyone living in Pyes Pa is off a street that intersects with Pyes Pa road. There is no way to get from Pyes Pa road to The Lakes other than at the beginning or end of Pyes Pa road.
It's actually more common for people to say they live in Tauriko as that is just on the other side of SH36. Even the NZ Postal service recognizes this: http://www.nzpost.co.nz/tools/address-p ... ranga-3112.
But otherwise they do lump it into Pyes Pa: http://www.nzpost.co.nz/tools/address-p ... ranga-3112
Would "The Lakes" be acceptable as an alternate naming in addition to Pyes Pa - so not replacing it?

Looking at the Tauranga City Council map Pyes Pa doesn't even seem to exist:

There is Barkes Corner, Waimapu, Te Ranga and Tauriko - no mention of Pyes Pa...

Found this boundary map and The Lakes seems to be in Pyes Pa. http://econtent.tauranga.govt.nz/data/t ... daries.pdf. Would it still be helpfull to add the alternate naming?

The whole new subdivision to the right of SH36 is called "The Lakes"
