Yeah, I also wondered that. I wasn't me (I don't think so anyway)


As per pre conversation we were doing a trail in Northland.

Lets see what happens, I think its going to look real nice and hopefully still navigable.

If you only turn on "roads" and "cities" layers on the editor you will see more clearly what in trying to achieve

What happens in rural areas that don't have a state highway running through them?
if its a in 50km zone add city name
Are they not worth appearing on the map?

Why do townies like names of rural areas only to appear in one place?

I suspect i'm just as rural as yourself, It is common map practice to have biggest cities with the biggest labels.
I'm starting to feel rather dejected I have to say, I get that routing may not be so important in rural areas - though probably those people that were stranded for 4 hours after my car accident may have liked to be able to work out that there was another way out of Ararimu lol. That is of course if they could have worked out where they were at all as lets face it Ararimu wont be showing on the map. There are no State Highways there
waze will get better.

drive through Whangarei and you will see some good roads :) (I didn't say perfect)

Where I live I have also removed the area/city and that has concerned me a little also but it is still search-able using the alternate field.

Im in a wait and see (Northland trail only)
