I don't generally like to revive long-dead forum threads, but the wiki currently points to this thread for a discussion on removing gas stations. Leadership in at least some regions provide guidance to editors - though not in the wiki that I can find - not to delete gas stations unless the pumps have been removed due to the OPIS information. Are the OPIS links reason to not delete the place?

Whether or not gas stations should be handled the same as other places, we should probably update this section which has been lingering for many years: https://wazeopedia.waze.com/wiki/USA/Pl ... as_Station. If gas stations need special handling, we should also note that here: https://wazeopedia.waze.com/wiki/USA/Places#Closed. If there's consensus on whether gas stations require special handling, I'll write up some text for it.
 

As the guy who wrote the new Places/Gas Station Wiki page, the only reason I didn't consider the removal process, was because I was unaware it was any different than another place.

Also, the Places/Gas Station page was meant to be the WME compliment the "Gas Stations" page, which was App focused, and still existed at the time of drafting Places/Gas Station.

I actually found this thread because I just saw a UR of a missing exxon, and I was wondering if there was some issue with gas stations disappearing.
