City names do not go to TTS. If they appear as control cities in BGS, those would indeed go TTS.
Ya... I was mainly commenting on the commonality of the name.
In addition to control cities, there's also the common replacement for "1st" or "Main" where the street becomes "Cityname Blvd"
Byoona always cracks me up when I hear it.

GizmoGuy411 wrote:With the assistance of Otto we found the needed intentional misspellings for "Buena" and "Sepulvada" to submit to Waze so that they are pronounced as correctly as possible for the "Samantha" and "Tom" voices. Waze reports that the "Jane" voice already pronounces them correctly.

Clear the TTS cache in your device to hear the corrected names.
(Menu > Navigate, then search for "cc@tts" without the quotes)
Thanks... and it's "Sepulveda"... would hate to see the wrong spelling "corrected"

Buena has always made my laugh. There was another one that we were discussing in the HO a few weeks ago that was funny as well.... "Tiburon"
"Tihborahn" or "Tibborahn" perhaps?

Phonetically, with the vowel following the single consonant, "ai" would be correct.
Of course, once in the world of proper nouns, phonetics frequently falls apart.

I have one locally that is annoying.

"Live Oak" is pronouned by TTS with the short "I" rather than corrently as "L-eye-v Oak"

And this may be one to take a look at. I would imagine that the verb form of "live" is extremely rare in street and city names vs the adjective form.
Even in place names, "live" would be more likely to appear as an active form of the verb such as "Living the Life _____"

Another odd one is "Doran" places to much emphasis on the 2nd syllable so rather than "Door-en" it sounds more like "Doe-Ran"

"Object on road ahead" still sounds like "I objEct, your honor"
"Madre" is pronounced "Mad-reh" rather than "Mod-ray"

Noted today:
San Dimas

San D-eye-mes (I was so caught by the "eye" that I didn't make not of the "mas" pronounciation but I think it was "mes" which is close enough)

Should be San Dee-mus

What should they be... or are you saying that they are not?

San Dimas is coming out San D-eye-mus... it's phonetically correct but the city is pronounced "San Deemus" The old joke used to be that it was a "Sandy Mass" but nobody really pronounces the las syllable as "mass"

Doran St is coming out "Doe-Ran" with a bit too much emphasis on the 2nd syllable. "Doe-Ren" would sound better.
