(USA/West Coast) Can't plan a round trip

Post by DharmaPunker
I'm going back and forth between the same two destinations repeatedly lately (moving) and it would useful to be able know how long it will take and what route I should take considering there may be tolls involved depending on time of day. Not to mention the ability to send ETA's.
I've looked on the help pages, user manual, etc. but can't find any solutions. Am I missing something obvious?

If you also provide general details of where and to you are traveling, we can verify that no maps issues are causing problems.

If you have version 4 of the app, you can use Planned Drives. This is the exact point of the feature so I think you'll find it very useful for this purpose. It'll show you when to leave based on current traffic, and upon starting your drive, you can see the route being offered or choose one of the alternate routes if you prefer. You can also send ETA's directly from the "Go" screen.

Let's see if this is what you're looking for:

I'm at work. Let's say I need to go home and come right back. I set work as my destination (yes, set the place you're starting from as the destination) then use the "Add a stop" feature and choose Home as a stop along the way.

Waze then shows me when I should get to the stop point AND when I should get back. (Plus the time I spend at the stop point, of course. Using the blue Routes button gets me three round-trip routes.
Using the green Send ETA button (or the shortcut next to it for a frequent person) sends an ETA.

Now I'm going home. And I hope I don't have to come back to work tonight.
