Toll tunnel/bridge checklist - US

Postby AlanOfTheBerg » Thu Aug 09, 2012 4:40 pm

To make sure we cover the toll tunnels and bridges in the US (Canada, I didn't look up any info yet), here is the list which came from http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/policyinformati ... /index.cfm. If this thread/list isn't necessary, say so. I just didn't see a list compiled for us to check off yet.

This topic covers tunnels/bridges, not toll roads. Those are covered in another thread.

Interstate system details
Non-interstate system details are in italics.

This OP is now complete, so please changes as necessary and move roads into the "Completed" section when the road is updated and/or verified. Thanks!

No, this was a document we used for transition only after Waze implemented the Toll option in the editor. It should not be referenced going forward except to see perhaps who updated stuff originally. But being from November 2012, it's not relevant any longer really.

Is this still being updated? You can add the Foley Beach Express toll bridge in Orange Beach to the Alabama list. That should be the last of the bridges in AL that are tolled.

(Now if I could just get everyone locally to refer to it as "express" instead of "expressway" I'd be happy!)

Just added the Johnston Island Causeway at Marblehead Ohio to the list. No other entries for Ohio? Can that be correct?

I found a few recent threads on marking Ferries as tolls noting there are still limitations, but I assume we are going to mark them as we go along and not have it restrict our turning on toll roads?

http://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=129&t=23448
http://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=23596

A few days ago I found a part of SR-84 in California that I never new existed. It crosses a small river by a free ferry. I will have to drive up there to see it. It was not even mapped in Waze, so I added it.

I know we have a number of other ferries that I will look up to see if they charge or are free, either way making sure the path is indicated. The question is if we want to leave off ferries that are down part of the year, or map them anyway. Seems like the same issue as turn restrictions, but technically we can just disconnect the road in the off season after we get a UR saying the Ferry is closed.

So was SR-267, the Dulles Toll Road. The Bay Bridge Tunnel "Chesapeake Bay (US 13)" was noted as done here: viewtopic.php?f=129&t=23897&start=10#p215525.
