Tweet asking for segments to be closed. Not sure Waze can do this in this short a time?

The social guys in the US are in California, so I think they are/should be. I can try to email them directly, or does this warrant an SOS? How long are the closures supposed to last?

If this isn't going to impact more than just a single commute, I don't think I'm comfortable waking anyone up.

The US-specific discussion here needs to be split. I will move the posts into the US forum.

That makes sense. I'm not seeing them in the client.

Yes. Many are created by "Rick," but there are some other users as well.

Don't know how at this point. Although several critical segments do seem to be closed by users.

As a side note, the waze map is much more accurate (up to date) than the map from the DC DoT in their twitter post/web posting.

To be honest I wouldn't rely on the DC Dot post too heavily, this is very fluid situation. I suspect that DC DoT is not calling the shots on what will open and when it may open.

I suspect that I-695 will be opened at any time unless they think opening the interstate will be ineffective as it may just fill with gawkers.

I would guess that M St will be closed at least over night.

Sounds reasonable. The lastest is that the interstate has been reopened, but M St remains closed:

All streets should be open for the morning rush.

In a separate development, how are road closures working in Boulder, CO?
