Though Beyers and Hendrik Potgieter are M roads are they not?

I like consistency though, so either all similar (M?) roads need to be upgraded to Minor Highways or we need to demote the section of beyers (and hendrik potgieter). Seems easier to demote the road which is why I suggested it.

I agree somewhat with the road recording, though it can be useful in marking spots to map out (easier to push record than to report a map problem). Maybe if they just fixed it so that it didn't create 100 segments on a straight road it might be easier to work with

Why all the changes from Minor Highway to Primary Road? I don't think these actually accomplish anything other than making the zoomed out map views harder to read. Did I miss a discussion where everyone decided to stop making Rnnn roads Minor Highways?

As far as Republic / Bond / Bram Fischer go, changing them (back) to single roads is probably okay; the downside is that I suspect we're going to start drowning in road fragments along these roads as they are wide enough to cause recording mode to draw new roads alongside them. The end of Republic leading up to William Nicol should probably stay as a double road so the slip lanes at that intersection can be accurate.

Side rant: I wish Waze would get rid of recording mode completely; it doesn't seem to accomplish anything useful. Even when I'm mapping out a brand new road or area, I just travel it with recording mode off, and draw the roads myself from the GPS and aerial layers, because it's easier than repairing the spaghetti mess that recording mode creates.

Ah, sorry, it looks like I misremembered; Beyers Naude is indeed an M-road (M5), so Primary Road would be the correct designation. (Hendrik Potgieter is a bit out of my bailiwick, but I believe you're right about that one as well)
