50 map problems resolved candy...

Post by jmp316
So I'm pretty sure I've resolved more than 50 map problems, yet I haven't gotten the candy yet. Is there a way to track this? Has anyone gotten their candy from 50 resolves?

Thanks for all your help!

Map problems are not map edits. You need to resolve map problem on the layer of the same name.

It would seem there is an inconsistency in the the usage of "map problems" and "map update requests."

And remember the old editor is Cartouche and the new editor is Papyrus. Pay no heed to the URL. :)

I have to admit I always thought it 50 Update Requests rather than map problems but I had well over 50 of both when these bonus candies were brought in so I've nothing really to base that on.

If it's Map Problems, no there is no way to track these that I'm aware of.

From the layers panel in cartouche_old you can enable the "Update Requests" layer and you'll see them as red circles.

If you have an AM area you can hit "Update Requests" in the View panel to see a list of those in your area.

Update requests are only visible in Cartouche. I read the update requests in Cartouche and then use a bookmarklet to bring that area up in Papyrus and fix the problem, then go back to Cartouche to close out the request.

The little red teardrop things you see in Papyrus are Map Problems. Papyrus puts these in there when it detects GPS points that don't follow roads. A heavily used U-Turn that's missing from the map can make them come up. Also if you have a road set to one-way and there's a lot of traffic going against the one-way, a Map Problem will come up. As far as I know, you don't get any points for resolving these, other than the points you get for the map edit.

I can now confirm that this bonus is for resolving 50 update requests and not 50 map problems. It is actually possible to "resolve" a map problem if you're an AM but it's a race to see if you can click "resolve" before Cartouche automatically refreshes and the problem goes away. Therefore I thought that maybe this bonus was for map problems but I just hadn't managed to resolve 50 of them, despite fixing many more than that. However, this past week I didn't resolve any map problems and I just crossed over 50 resolved update requests and I got the 500-point bonus candy. Unfortunately, even the pop-up message telling you to watch for your candy says "You have resolved 50 map problems..." Very confusing.

I see on my dashboard that it tracks "Resolve Update Requests", but it doesn't say anything about general map problem fixes (which I've been doing a lot of). Which one gets you the candy?
