Maybe it is not 1% of the users in a country, but 1% of the point total for all users in the country...

When I check my non-active facebook friends on the scoreboard, they have weekly ranks between 2.5 and 2.7 Million. Today they all dropped 12k places on the weekly rank.

My colleague has just begun (driving only), and has collected 898 points in two weeks, putting him at rank 408071.

This makes me believe the current % of active users is about 15-20 %.

So more Wazers that can get a crown. And if many Wazers are not active, it's even easier to get a crown if you are active.

Are you seeing lots of Wazers around you as you drive?

Maybe there is also a minimum number of points required to get a crown? Maybe 200k (ok, doesn't quite compute based on dashboard info posted earlier)?

No, he said there are far more than 200 users in his country. He really should have a crown if it's truly supposed to be available for the top 1% of all users. Seems like the next step should be an email to support.

@mssusa: those 1400-point jumps are on your country scoreboard (not the one for the entire world server), correct?

If users in SA are moving up 1300 points in the weekly standings, there must be more than 200 users. Since your experience goes against what we've been told should happen, let us know what you hear from support.

I assume that on the top of world.waze.com it gets much more difficult to move as all of those top 50 are very busy updating maps. It was easier to move up in the country (state) statistics, as there are some people no longer earning points - or almost. In the state you have sometimes people so close with few points difference that you easily move forward with 5000 points earned.

I've been wondering about the ranking and top %1, %4, etc. in the world server. Is my ranking based on my country? or the entire world - USA/Canada?
The client says my ranking is 2 (and I can see that this is in my country), but the scoreboard on the web says my ranking is 290. Does this mean I'm the 290th top scorer in the entire world-USA/Canada? If so the I should have been crowned king ages ago; surely we have have more the 29000 wazers in the world. Or is it top %0.01? top %0.001?...

It says error retrieving scoreboard data , but when I change the url to world.waze.com it gives:
