Suggested default view for 'Everyone' scoreboard tab

Post by skbun
The default view when a person clicks on the 'Everyone' tab is this one:
http://www.waze.com/WAS/scoreboard?tab= ... _version=1

It gives the top 50 users for 'all times' and 'all states'. I'd like to suggest that of the four views that people are likely to want to look at, this is not the ideal one. Since there is only one of four views on this tab that yield a reward, it's probably ALSO the view people are most likely to want to look at first anyway. Therefore, I suggest that the link below be the default view people get when they click the 'Everyone' tab, which will give them 'local/state' for 'this week only' along with the previous week's top three.

It would probably slightly push points on a week to week basis, and probably reduce load on the servers that have to show the scoreboards.

Unless you happen to be climbing the national top 50. Personally that's the first screen I look at as I crawl ever closer to One Meellion Points. (puts pinky up under nose) The Weekly I just glance at in passing because nobody has come close to my weekly points score for months. 8-)

But I recognize that I'm part of a very small group of people who have no other life outside of editing in Waze.

Then again, on that subject - and because there's often a first place person blowing everybody away by far, completionists might appreciate two new incentives aimed at weeklies, with a probably appropriate score to match it:

Top weekly scorer in your state: 1500 points (plus the gold mood for a week)
Silver weekly scorer in your state: 750 points (plus the silver mood for a week - after all, the script already has to process this mood possibility anyway)
Bronze weekly scorer in your state: 500 points (plus the bronze mood for a week - again, the script has to process this mood possibility)

Add in to the 'gold', 'silver', or 'bronze' mood triggers that the candies for anything below them are awarded or marked done.

Gold gets silver and bronze candies collected.
Silver gets bronze collected.
Bronze gets only the bronze candy collected.

Thoughts? I have half an idea how the scoring is tabulated based on the way the scoreboard runs, so I wonder if these might not actually be that hard to do. After all, if Waze now has 20,000,000 users, 'top weekly user in your state' is probably gonna be pretty hard, right? :D

One issue with defaulting to the by-state view is that only the US supports states right now and Waze is used world-wide.

BUT since North America is on a separate server, it could be server specific thing. Although that still messes up Canada.

So short answer, not as simple as it sounds.
