This is basically due to infrastructure issues. Waze started as a small company, not so long ago they still had well below 30million users, today they have over 100million and while they've done what was needed for their routing servers to continue to work and support the increase in users, that effort kept them from also upgrading the points server due to lack of internal resources for the task and priority being usually given to GPS routing.

Due to the recent problems their teams started to work on some long awaited improvements of that system, we were told they are making big efforts and also made a lot of progress in the last few days. Progress which allowed them to resolve the issues for the NA server which was finally updated (as seen on the status page).

They now started to work on INTL/IL servers, however the process they use to push a fix takes 20h to run because of the huge amount of data, if the process fails they need to re-run it and it's another 20h. At this point they're hoping things will all be resolved this week.

The public profile, the dashboard and the points on the app are not showing a live count and are updated at different frequencies, they will never show the same amount at the same time. Since there was a very long delay in point updates recently that just was fixed, the gap between the amounts on each of them can appear bigger temporarily until everything is caught up.

Waze is mainly a commuting App and much less a travel App, Big routes were for a long time limited to 1000 miles. There has been issues with long distance routing lately in some areas, yours could be affected.

This is never surprising around holidays or summer vacation. People stop their routine short distance commutes and all of a sudden all use Waze for very long drives, that obviously puts a lot more work on the points server to process all those drives.

We're still in August and a lot of people must be driving back home for back-to-school/work in September. Once the shorter drives resume being the norm it should be able to breath a little and catch up.

That would be a problem if https://www.waze.com/dashboard showed account stats had been updated between yesterday and today, but it says this:

Also very long drives take more time to process so you will maybe even get points for smaller ones before those for that long one.
Once people reduce the use of Waze for drives of ~800km like you say you did yesterday, and go back to routine home-work-home commutes things should improve as the points server will be able to catch up, like it has done in 2017, 2016, 2015, etc.. even though people also didn't believe it back then.
