What are points used for?

Forgive me asking what seems such an obvious question, but could not find in FAQ or via search on the forum.... I see all the ways to earn them, just not sure what to do with them! Can they be redeemed for something? If so, how? :?

No, you aren't missing anything. Points don't translate into anything tangible, they are simply points.
