Some people want names on the map because that is quite handy when browsing the map looking for a gas station.
We all know you can also use the search function, but sometimes people like to have multiple ways or habbits to find something

I do see a difference between liking McDonald's and having all GS's on the map... GS's are quite essential in driving your car and wanting to reach your destination... but it's also how you interpret it of course...

So the discussion should/could be:
1. as a point or place
2. if place is chosen, for what reasons and how to achieve these reasons at max ?!

I personally like a clean map and i use the search function, so if you ask me, it can be a point
I only discovered a couple of weeks/months ago GS's are working as point and area...
