The road network is already pre-released. We can use that to help map the TM-CLK Link

For some reason nothing was added to my area tab to allow me upload kml file...even with WME Geometries installed.

Are you using the latest version? I sometimes have this problem too, usually updating the script can solve, or disable some other scripts to see if they crash each other.

Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Tunnel to open on Dec 27

Postby grub_s » Wed Nov 18, 2020 5:25 pm

Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Tunnel to open on Dec 27. The Lantau Link will go toll-free on the same day.

Government press release: https://www.info.gov.hk/gia/general/202011/18/P2020111800220.htm

Commissioning of Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link Northern Connection to take place on December 27
*******************************************************************************
The Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link (TM-CLKL) Northern Connection will be commissioned on December 27 (Sunday).

The TM-CLKL comprises the Northern Connection and Southern Connection. The Northern Connection is 5.5 kilometres long, of which about 5km is the Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Tunnel, a subsea road tunnel connecting Tuen Mun South and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) Hong Kong Port. The Southern Connection was opened to traffic in October 2018.

A spokesman for the Transport and Housing Bureau said, "The TM-CLKL connects the Northwest New Territories, the HZMB, North Lantau and the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). Upon its full commissioning, the TM-CLKL will offer a more direct route of much shorter driving distance between the Northwest New Territories and Lantau. The journey time from Tuen Mun South to the HKIA will be reduced by about 20 minutes."

Moreover, the TM-CLKL provides an alternative road access between the HKIA and the urban area in addition to the Lantau Link. It will help divert traffic to and from Lantau, thus creating an opportunity for waiving the tolls of the Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Tunnel and the Lantau Link.

"To reduce the cost incurred by the public, public transport operators and transport trades for using the government tunnel and control area concerned, the Government will effect the toll waiver for the new tunnel and the Lantau Link from the day when the Northern Connection is open to traffic," said the spokesman.

At present, the works for the Northern Connection are in the final stage, such as the replacement of existing traffic signs to match with the commissioning of the Northern Connection and the toll-free arrangement of the Lantau Link. The Highways Department (HyD) is also coordinating with different departments and organisations (such as the tunnel operator) to prepare for the commissioning of the related road sections, including conducting relevant drills.

The HyD, together with the Transport Department and the relevant department, will announce the detailed arrangements for the commissioning in due course.

That's nice. I see that you've improved the map already.

For some reason nothing was added to my area tab to allow me upload kml file...even with WME Geometries installed.

Nice; thanks! It works now. I installed the WME Geometries straight from the Chrome extension web store - that one didn't work.
